Peggy Howe Hall Johnson, 85, of Clarkton, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at West Bladen Assisted Living in Bladenboro. Born on March 2, 1940, in Bladen County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Howe Hall and Alice Singletary Hall.
Peggy will be remembered for her strong faith and devotion to her family. Her love for them was evident, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her loved ones, especially her great grandbaby. She enjoyed welcoming friends and family into her home, where she created countless cherished memories.
An avid gardener, Peggy found much happiness in her yard, tending to flowers and plants that reflected her nurturing spirit. Cooking was another passion of hers, as well as watching birds, which brought her a sense of peace and tranquility. She radiated warmth and kindness in all her interactions, making her home a haven for all who visited.
Peggy is survived by her son, Alan Johnson (Mandy Hurt) of Durham; daughter, Rhonda Caballero of Clarkton; grandchildren: Alice Caballero, Grey Caballero; and great-grandchild, Ayla Caballero. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Jimmy" Douglas Johnson, Jr.; an infant daughter, Judy Lynn Johnson and brother, Augustus "Bobby" Hall.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-1:45pm on Tuesday, February 10th in the fellowship hall of Clarkton Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will be held at 2pm in the church sanctuary with Reverend Barrett Ingram officiating service. Burial will follow in the Daniel Family Cemetery located at 2409 Old Peanut Road in Elizabethtown.
Peggy's legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
