Rocky Lane Hammond

Rocky Lane Hammond was born January 19, 1960, son of the late Marvin Stamps Hammond and Gloria Anna Davis. He departed this life on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by an infant sister Suzanne Carter, one daughter Samantha Hammond, and his beloved fur babies, Harley and Bruno.

Rocky was known to all for his big heart and his contagious sense of humor. He always kept everyone around him in stitches. Even when sickness came into his life, he maintained a positive attitude and refused to give up on living. He enjoyed traveling with his fiancé, Lisa, and spending time with family & friends. He had a passion for racing and enjoyed attending NASCAR races or watching it on tv. Rocky always had a saying, “Rocky was going to do what Rocky wants to do.” And he did just that. His strength, his tenacity for life, and his unwavering love will continue to have a positive impact on all those that cherish his memory.

Those left to carry his legacy are fiancé, Lisa Fontes of St. Pauls and one sister, Regina Taylor and husband James of Maggie Valley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5 pm at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Reverend Bradley Butler officiating.
