Sarah Ann Robinson Johnston, 77, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of Friday, January 23, 2026. She was reunited with her beloved husband, William Kelly Johnston Sr. and her parents, Timothy David Robinson and Isabelle Johnson Robinson. She was also preceded by siblings, Johnny Robinson, Nellie Tatum, Irene Alford, David Robinson, Betty Tatum, and Colin Robinson.
She leaves behind her children, Mary McMillian, Kelly Simmons, and William Johnston Jr., six grandchildren: Candi Jacobs, Michael Johnston, Travis Pittman (Kelly), Justin Pittman, Makayla Simmons, and Morgan Simmons; great-grandchildren: Kaleb Jacobs, Bryson Pittman, Laylah Jacobs, Mary Beth Pittman, Alyssa Pittman, Declan Pittman, and Brody Johnston; three siblings: Beulah Johnson, Ida Suggs, and Daniel Robinson (Marilyn) and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 2-3 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with a funeral service immediately following at 3 pm. Burial will follow the services in the Beards Chapel Church Cemetery in White Lake.
Sarah will always be remembered for her genuine love of others and her sense of compassion. She spent her life working hard and would do anything she could for her family. Sarah spent several years working as a custodian at the Booker T. Washington School. She was also a cashier for Winn Dixie, the A&P grocery store, and a seamstress with Garland Shirts. When she was not working, she enjoyed cooking and attending church. Her love and devotion will never be forgotten.
