Shulah Mae Ezzell, 94, of High Point, formerly of Bladenboro, NC passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center in Jamestown, NC. She was born May 30, 1927, in Whiteville, NC the daughter of the late Mayo and Daisy Hilburn Duncan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Ezzell, stepmother Carrie Robinson Duncan, brothers Leamon, Billy, and Alton Duncan, and sisters, Eunice Cox, Ruby Lee Catron, Helen Harmon, Nellie Vines, Alice Duncan, and Pearl Duncan. Shulah Mae is survived by three brothers, Larry Duncan, Royce Duncan, both of High Point, and Earl Duncan of Yanceyville, NC, one sister, Frances Morgan (J.L.) of High Point, special nephew Ron Holden who claimed her as his grandmother, and several other nieces and nephews.
Heaven got a little sassier the day God called her home. She was a good Christian lady with a lot of spunk. A member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church who enjoyed serving the Lord. Shulah Mae was also a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She has now gained her angel wings and reunited with the love of her life.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 2 pm in the Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery in Whiteville with Rev. Howard Allbright officiating.
