Tammy Kay Hester

Tammy Kay Hester, 67, of Elizabethtown went to her eternal home on the morning of May 29, 2025 while at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House in Whiteville, North Carolina. She was born in Bladen County on October 15, 1957 the daughter of the late Nash Winton Hester and Velma Britt Hester.

Tammy was a selfless giving person who found love and salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. She also found love and comfort in family and friends. She enjoyed spending time at home listening to country music and chatting with others. It was the highlight of her day when folks came to visit. Tammy's friendly demeanor and genuine love of others will be dearly missed.  

She is survived by her brother Nash W Hester Jr. and wife Candace of Elizabethtown, niece Melissa Hester, great nephew Brantley Jernigan, niece Santana Rice, special family member Frances Ramsay-Walton, and a host of cousins and friends who were like brothers and sisters. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday June 1, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home with services to follow at 3:00pm with Reverend Jacob Lewis and Willie Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.  

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care and support given by the staff of Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House and for the love shown by the host of family and friends during Tammy's illness.
