Terry Everette, a beloved native of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, was born on December 3, 1952, and passed away on May 20, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina. His life, spanning over seven decades, was deeply rooted in love, family, and cherished memories that will endure with all who knew him.
Terry was known for his unwavering devotion to his family. Above all else, he loved his daughter Denise Everette and treasured the joy brought by his granddaughters, Bailey and Koreigh Everette. His affection extended broadly within his family circle, which included his siblings: his twin brother Larry Everette and his wife Joy, Wayne Everette and his wife Sharon, Chris Everette and his wife Kathy, Holly Eastman and her husband Rick, and Daniel Everette and his wife Wanda. Alongside these close family members, he dearly cared for his fur baby, Bear, and was surrounded by an extensive network of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members too numerous to name individually.
Terry's roots ran deep in Elizabethtown, where he was born and where he would later be honored with visitation and funeral services held in the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will take place on May 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM , held at 3131 M.L.K. Dr in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel James and Ola Mae Meares Everette, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Meares, with whom he shared a very close bond. As well as his siblings who have gone before him, Oneal, Glenn, Billy, Randy, Katie, Mary, Becky, Joyce, and Floyd.
Terry Everette’s life was a testament to the power of family bonds, genuine kindness, and the joy that comes from loving deeply and being loved in return. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that will forever illuminate the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. His memory endures in the lives of his living family and friends, carrying forward the love he held so dear.
