Thyra Baldwin

Thyra Brown Baldwin, 74, of Florence, SC went home to be with her Lord, Sunday,June 12, 2011. She was born February 20, 1937 in Bladenboro, NC to the late Allene Cain Brown and Lee Roy Brown. She was a graduate of Bladenboro High School in 1955. She was a Santa Felomena honor graduate of NC Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in the Class of 1958. She was a graduate of the NC Baptist Hospital School of Anesthesia for Nurses in the class of 1962.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Alan Baldwin. She is survived also by her Aunt Evelyn Tilley of Portsmouth, Va. , her stepson, Daniel Baldwin and his wife, Jacqueline and step grandchildren, McKenzie, Kyle, Tess and Camille. Her devoted friends were a valued part of her life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 770 Singletary Mill Pond Rd. Bladenboro, NC or you may reflect her spirit with a special act of kindness to the people you meet.

Graveside services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 3:00pm at Lewis Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Hester officiating.
