Vance Channing Davis, age 41, passed away on March 24, 2026. He was born on February 25, 1985, to Chan Davis and Sonya Edwards.
Van was raised with deep love and unwavering devotion by Betty and G.C. Davis, who became the guiding foundation of his life. Through their care, support, and values, they helped shape the man he would become—someone known for his strength, loyalty, and heart.
Van was preceded in death by G.C. Davis, who raised him; his sister, Lisa Marie; his maternal grandfather, Larry Stevens; and his maternal great-grandparents, Vance and Rae Gardner.
Van loved his family with all of his heart. He adored his two daughters, Stella Betush and Hadley Davis. He enjoyed kayaking on the lake, riding four-wheelers through the woods, and pulling others through the snow for fun. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and always made sure everyone was having a good time—he was truly the life of any party.
Van was known for his passion for music. He loved to sit and play his guitar, mix up some mad beats on his turntables, and create music that made people smile. Music wasn’t just something he enjoyed—it was a way he connected with others and expressed who he was. He also dedicated over 20 years of his life working with granite, taking pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands.
He will be remembered for his presence, his character, and the impact he made on those who knew him. He carried with him the lessons of family, respect, and perseverance, and he shared those qualities freely with others.
His life, though too short, was meaningful and will not be forgotten.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Saturday, March 28th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, March 29th in the Clarkton City Cemetery.
