Wanda Kay Evers, passed away peacefully at her home in Bladenboro, North Carolina, on June 29, 2026. Born on November 7, 1954, in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late Ralph and Betty Watts Evans; Wanda lived a life marked by love, devotion, and steadfast commitment to her family.
Wanda’s journey began in rural North Carolina, where she grew up in a close-knit family. Throughout her life, she embodied gentleness and strength in equal measure, making her a source of comfort and inspiration to everyone blessed to know her.
She was the beloved wife of Bill Wayne Evers, Sr., whose companionship spanned almost fifty-four years. Wanda’s heart overflowed with love for her children: Billy Wayne Evers, Jr. and his wife Melissa, and Kevin Christopher Evers; and delighted in her grandchildren, Blake Walker Evers and his fiance Morgan, and Madison Dawn Evers, whose lives have been indelibly enriched by her kindness and warmth. Wanda also maintained deep bonds with her brothers, Daniel Evans and Joel Evans and his wife Wanda; and she is also survived by a whole host of special nieces and nephews far to numerous to name.
Wanda’s family circle extended to include friends and kin by marriage, each of whom she held dear. Additionally, the family fondly remembers those who have gone before her, including her daughter Tracy Lyn Evers and her brother Nathan Evans, whose memories Wanda always treasured.
Those who knew Wanda speak of her unwavering commitment to her loved ones, her gentle guidance, and the quiet yet powerful impact she had within her community. Whether spending time with family, sharing special moments with her grandchildren, or providing support to friends and neighbors, Wanda’s presence was always felt and appreciated.
A graveside service to honor Wanda’s life will be held at New Pait Cemetery, located at 3358 Center Rd, Bladenboro, NC 28320, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well lived and a woman deeply loved.
Wanda Kay Evers leaves behind a legacy defined by devoted family bonds and countless acts of kindness. Though she will be missed beyond measure, the love and lessons she shared endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
