Wesley Winfield Stephens

Wesley Winfield Stephens left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the age of 44. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clark and Patsy Braddy, and his uncle, Skipper King.

Wesley leaves behind his wife, Bethany Hall Stephens of the home; his parents, Wallace and Ruby “Amy” Stephens of Council; his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Alisa Stephens of Council; paternal grandparents, Isaac and Coleen Stephens of Council; mother-in-law, Linda D. Hall of Elizabethtown; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Will and Kristina Hall of Mooresville; nieces and nephews: Ruby Stephens, Noah Stephens, Ava Hall, Samuel Stephens, and Elizabeth Stephens; aunts: Rhonda King, Sabra DeBose (Bryan), and Sharon Stephens; and a close-knit extended family.

Wesley was married to the love of his life, Bethany, for 22 years. They were each others best friends. For 10 years he was dedicated and caring in his work at The Boys and Girls Home, as well as his recent work as an inspector for public health in processing plants. Wesley loved his students throughout his years of teaching and enjoyed teaching them shop and life skills. He was deeply connected to his family and friends and loved spending time with them. Wesley volunteered on the Carver’s Creek Fire Department for 28 years.

Over the years, he had so many animals that he loved and loved most things agricultural-minded. He genuinely enjoyed cooking for people that he loved. Wesley loved books. He enjoyed history, researching genealogy, working with his hands, and putting old trucks and farm equipment back together. He was a natural marksman and was happy outside on the river and near his home. He had a good and broad sense of humor and a twinkle in his eyes, and he will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, September 4th at 620 N. Braddy Plantation Road, Council, NC 28434 in his family’s ancestral home. A funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, September 5th at Carvers Creek Methodist Church with Reverend Donald Daniel officiating service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
