William "Bill" Eddie Bryan, Jr., 89, of Bladenboro, passed away on March 27, 2025 at the Bladen East Health and Rehab Nursing Center. Born on May 26, 1935, in Bladen County, Bill lived a life filled with passion, love, and an unwavering loyalty to his family.
A proud graduate of North Carolina State University, Bill carried the spirit of the Wolfpack with him throughout his life, embodying the tenets of school pride and teamwork. His enthusiasm as a long-time Wolfpack fan brought joy to many and fostered a sense of camaraderie among fellow supporters.
Bill's legacy will be cherished by his loving family. He is survived by his sons: W. Duncan Bryan and wife Terry, Eric Bryan and wife Marie. Bill also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Gwen Guyton, and stepson, Ben Guyton. His sister, Dorothy B. Love, remains as a testament to their familial bond. The joys of his life are further represented in his grandchildren: Samuel D. Bryan and wife Anna Carr, W. Zachary Bryan and wife Halie, Abby B. Olson and husband, Lieutenant Victor Olson, as well as his great-grandchildren: Miller Bryan, Islay Clare Bryan, and Cameron Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Bryan and Docia Butler Bryan; the mother of his two sons, Charlotte McGoogan Bryan; his second wife , Shirley Bryan, the mother of his step-children, Millie Bryan, and his siblings, Peggy Bryan, and Finley Bryan.
Bill Bryan's contributions to family, friends, and the community have left an indelible mark that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. As we remember Bill, we honor a life well-lived, marked by dedication and love for his family, community, and the Wolfpack. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, at Center Road Baptist Church from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 pm. Rev Adam Self will be officiating.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and special caregivers/aides Brandy Woodell and Elizabeth Mitchell for the care and support given during Bill's illness.
